We never know when God is going to tell us to give up everything. But we must be willing to lay down our lives so we can gain it in him. The bible says in (Mark 8:35) that whosoever saves his life will loose it and whosoever looses his life for my sake and the gospel's the same shall be saved. (Luke 17:33) Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall loose it and whosoever looses his life his life shall be preserved. It is hard to say what you will or will not do until you are put in that situation. I know from my own personal experience that God can and is capable of telling you to forsake all just as he did to the disciples. They gave up everything!
